So you've heard of neurodiversity and you want to know more.

Excellent! You've come to just the right space.

Neurodiversity is about the pure biological fact that we are all different with different cognitive profiles, strengths and challenges.

But the neurodiversity movement however, is an identity politics vehicle. It's about social justice.

And it's about how we as practitioners understand community sentiment in this field to better meet their needs and provide excellent quality of care.

To be affirming is a journey, rather than an end point, but getting started here? Well it starts the journey well.

In this course you'll be learning:

  • What is neurodiversity?
  • What are the words neurodivergent and neurotypical and who does this cover?
  • The social justice behind the neurodiversity movement
  • Core paradigm shifts from the medical model
  • Key language changes that have occurred
  • Reflective practice on the history of harm in therapy and medical professionals, and how knowing this, we start to do better

Importantly, you'll be learning from Sandhya Menon (she/her), an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, but also an Autistic/ADHDer who uses her lived experience to educate.
